Birthday Party
Activities
Birthday party activities should be fun and enjoyable to
every guest at the party. If your birthday person is a young
child then you should ask them what sort of games they would
like to play at the party. More than likely the games they
choose will be games that their friends will like also. Make
sure none of the children are left out of any activities.
You should have small prizes for everyone, and special
prizes for the 1st three winners for each activity that you
have at the party. Small inexpensive prizes may be purchased
either online or at one or more of your local department
stores.
For small children under the age of three activities should
include coloring, finger painting, and other games that might
help them learn such as having a variety of different color
balloons together and having the children pick out a certain
color. As always the prizes should match the age of the
children.
Activities for preschoolers should include games such as
Simon Says, musical chairs, I Spy, Duck-Duck Goose, London
Bridge, finger painting, coloring picture contest. Be sure to
allow parents time to take plenty of pictures throughout the
whole party.
Then we move up to the preteen years. Preteen children feel
that they are not babies and don't want to be treated as such,
they are usually demanding to be treated as a teenager would
be, so the games would need to help them prepare for the teen
years. Preteen birthday party activities need to include races,
pin the tail on the donkey, and break the pinata, in-house or
mini bowling.
Teenagers usually have their minds into video games of some
sort, so your activities should revolve around that. Have
prizes for the 1st three winners, and also for each guest. They
also love to eat, so you could have an eating contest.
Young adult activities could include races, and games like
bowling, dancing, eating contests also. Having contests such as
name the band of this song, or name that tune, are very popular
activities.
Adults are the hardest to figure out, and planning birthday
party activities for them is much different. First consider
their age and what they like to do most. If you need to rent a
hall or have a party where you just pull the chairs and tables
together. If the party is going to be held at home, you have to
use reverse psychology, because adults want to feel young
again. Base all your activities around dancing or bowling
parties, volley ball, or tag football.
You could even have a roast for the birthday person, and try
not to say things that would really hurt their feelings. Follow
the roast with a nice dinner, then cutting of the birthday
cake, and dancing.
No matter what age the participants are, birthday party
activities are always a challenge and you wan to ensure that
all the guests at the party have an enjoyable and a memorable
time.
